Through the valley

The reconstruction works of the road in my hometown valley had been finished a few days earlier and I must say I like the outcome quite a bit. And they added a fountain!

Polli

Seems like I have no problem keeping my promise not to post new pics too often. Yay for me! I took a walk in Polli village a few weeks ago. Had the camera with me obviously. All of the pictures have been edited because I like the low saturation look.
Oh, and Happy 90th Anniversary, Estonia!

A walk in Tallinn old town

Well it's been almost two months now and I really hadn't got around to taking the camera out for a spin for a while. But today I strolled around Tallinn old town with a friend and now I can finally add some new pictures.

Ratatouille

Yesterday I found this half eaten chocolate surprise egg in the closet. Looks like we have mice. Yay! The find itself isn't anything special but what was inside the egg I found kind of funny.

See! It's a mouse! And it's eating cheese. While it was a Ratatouille themed egg I found out that the mouse's name is Emile and that it's actually a rat. Emile is a good-natured, easygoing rodent who just wants what every rat wants - good food. That's the fun fact for today :)

5 pictures from Norway

In August I travelled to Norway with my family. Naturally, I took far too many pictures there, but I'll share 5 of the better ones here. I hope to compile and upload a bigger album soon, so this post will be updated with a link to that, then.

The picture is taken from atop of a dam in Hunderfossen.

Sheep! They were everywhere. In this occasion they were about 1700m up in the mountains.

Imagine hiking in the mountains all day. You arrive at this lake, exhausted. You can just sit down, relax and enjoy the calmness of the place. For hours. Picture taken in Skjolden.

A scenic boatride in the fjords which ended in the Nærøyfjorden. Sadly, the picture doesn't do justice to the magnificence of the place.

Moon over a lake

This picture is taken about a year ago. You may notice there's no reflection of the moon on the water. That's because I used a kind of a multi-exposure effect. I zoomed in to the moon, covered the lens shortly after pressing the shutter release button, zoomed out to the bridge, uncovered the lens and after a while I released the button. Recomposing was the tricky part as it's impossible to see anything throught the viewfinder while taking the picture. Although the moon isn't as sharp as I'd like it to be, I like the result.

I'm not very sure why I like this picture but I'm guessing it's the colours.

Lately I've been playing with HDR a bit and this picture is one produced from a single RAW file.

Hi everyone!

Although I have no idea whom I'm greeting here I found an introductory post in order. My name is Timo Tae. I'm a student at Tallinn Technical University hoping to get a degree in computer engineering soon. And now I'm a blogger, too!

Why a blog? Well basically it's just another photoblog to share pictures with my friends. And with everyone else. So no news here.

Why in english? Just so the vast masses of international viewers could understand what I'm saying. No, really! But I'm not saying there never will be a post in estonian :)
What camera am I using? I currently have a Nikon D50 with a Sigma 18-200mm f3.5-6.3 lens. In addition I'm hoping to get a 50mm f1.8d lens from Nikkor soon. I also have the SB600 flash.
How frequently am I going to post here? In the beginning quite often I guess, given that I'm digging through the archives right now to find pictures worth posting here. But I'll try not to be overenthusiastic.

OK then, we'll see how this goes.
